How to Cook a Prime Rib Roast with the Weber iGrill Mini

    by Micah

Now that grilling season finally feels like it is here, we are going to show you how to cook a Prime Rib Roast with the Weber iGrill mini. The recipe called for it to be cooked for 2 hours but it was actually done 20 minutes earlier so I am really glad that we had the iGrill synced up. It was the first time I had used internal temperature to let me know that my meat was done and it is a game changer! The meat turned out perfectly.

We found this recipe on the Food Network here. You can view our complete line-up of Weber iGrills here.

    Ingredients

    1 (6-rib) standing rib roast

    Vegetable oil

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

    2 tablespoons dried thyme

    2 tablespoons dried basil

    2 tablespoons dried sage

    Garlic cloves

    Directions

    1.     Remove the large cut of meat from the refrigerator 1 hour before putting on the grill to allow the internal temperature of the meat to come down.

    2.     Brush the meat with oil to keep it moist and from sticking to the grates. Sprinkle generously with salt and pepper and the dried herbs. Make slits in the meat with a sharp knife and insert the garlic cloves.

    3.     Prepare a grill for indirect grilling. The temperature inside the grill should be 300 to 325 degrees F.

    4.     Place the meat, bone-side down, on the rack directly in the center of the grill. Cover with the lid. Grill until the Weber iGrill registers 130 degrees F for medium-rare.

    5.     Let the meat rest before carving.
